There are many references to using StarOffice in the lesson
plans. Some may not be aware of
StarOffice
and its benefits. First, Sun Microsystems is making it available to educational
institutions worldwide for the cost of the media. This is a huge gift! It
is a very functional replacement for the more costly Microsoft Office. It
presently runs on Windows, Linux, and Solaris. There is a beta version for
Macintosh OS X at
www.openoffice.org.
OpenOffice is the open source verison of StarOffice and is entirely free
to all.
